Terms of service
The agreement between you and Connexolve when you use our APIs, sandbox, or console. Plain, balanced, and written for business customers building verification flows in India.
Effective 09 June 2026 · Version 1.0
01Acceptance
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("Customer", "you") and Connexolve Infotech Private Limited ("Connexolve", "we", "us"). By creating a Connexolve account, generating an API key, or making any API call, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
If you are accepting on behalf of an organisation, you warrant that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
02The service
Connexolve provides a unified API platform that performs identity, employment, business, financial, vehicle, utility, document, and risk verifications. Each verification is performed by querying an authorised data source — a government registry, a regulated body, or a licensed third-party data provider.
The service has two environments:
- Sandbox (
sandbox.connexolve.in) — free, returns deterministic synthetic responses for the magic values listed in our documentation. No real data, no billing. - Production (
api.connexolve.in) — live, billable, returns real data from authorised sources.
03Permitted use
You may use Connexolve APIs only:
- For lawful purposes consistent with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable Indian laws
- With the verifiable consent of the data principal whose data is being verified
- For a specific, declared purpose disclosed to the data principal at consent time
- By your authorised employees, contractors, and integration partners
You may not use Connexolve APIs:
- To stalk, surveil, profile without consent, or harass any individual
- To make discriminatory decisions based on attributes returned by the API (race, religion, caste, disability, etc.)
- To bulk-extract personal data outside the scope of a specific consented purpose
- To resell raw API responses to third parties outside your direct customer relationship
- To circumvent rate limits, abuse sandbox magic values, or attack our infrastructure
- For any purpose prohibited by RBI, SEBI, IRDAI, or other Indian regulatory authorities
04Your account, your responsibility
You are responsible for:
- Safeguarding your API keys, webhook secrets, and console passwords
- Promptly rotating compromised credentials and notifying us within 24 hours of any suspected breach
- Maintaining accurate billing and contact information
- Collecting and recording end-user consent before submitting their data for verification
- Communicating verification results to end-users responsibly and without misuse
- All activity that occurs under your API keys, including by your employees or systems
05Consent and the consent artifact
For each verification, you must:
- Inform the data principal what data will be collected, from which source, and for what purpose
- Obtain explicit, recordable consent — written, electronic, or audio — prior to submitting the verification request
- Retain the consent artifact (timestamp, IP address, message text shown, version) for at least 7 years
- Honour requests to withdraw consent and stop further verifications for that data principal
For credit bureau, ITR, and other regulated data sources, Connexolve may require you to submit a consent artifact object with your API request. We may audit your consent records on reasonable notice.
06Fees and payment
Prepaid wallet
Production usage is billed against a prepaid wallet. You top up your wallet in advance; each successful verification debits the published per-call price. Sandbox usage is free.
What is billable
- A successful verification that returns a result from the data source (HTTP 200 with
success: true) - A conclusive
CNX_NO_RECORD_FOUNDresponse (HTTP 422) — this is a real answer that the record does not exist
What is not billable
- Source-side downtime (
CNX_SOURCE_UNAVAILABLE,CNX_SOURCE_TIMEOUT) - Connexolve-side errors (
CNX_INTERNAL_ERROR,CNX_PROVIDER_ERROR) - Rate-limit responses (
CNX_RATE_LIMITED) - Input validation rejections before the data source is contacted
- Idempotency-key replays — the original charge stands; the replay returns the same result for free
Pricing and changes
Per-call prices are published in our pricing page and in the customer console. We may change prices with 30 days' prior notice by email. Existing wallet balances are honoured at the price effective at the time the call is made.
Taxes
Prices are exclusive of GST and other applicable taxes. We issue GST-compliant tax invoices through Zoho Books, registered to your declared GSTIN.
Refunds
No refunds are available for verifications that have been performed. Unused prepaid wallet balances are refundable on a pro-rata basis, less any third-party gateway charges and applicable taxes, within 90 days of account closure.
07Service availability and SLA
We aim for 99.5% monthly uptime of the Connexolve gateway, measured excluding scheduled maintenance windows announced at least 48 hours in advance.
Downstream availability of data sources (government registries, regulated bodies, third-party providers) is outside our control. We provide CNX_SOURCE_UNAVAILABLE and CNX_SOURCE_TIMEOUT responses transparently so your application can retry. We do not bill calls that hit source-side downtime.
08No warranty on data accuracy
Connexolve returns data exactly as received from authorised sources. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any data returned. Government registries occasionally contain stale, missing, or incorrect entries; this is the source's data quality, not ours.
You must not make sole-source decisions of legal, financial, or material consequence purely on the basis of a Connexolve API response without independent corroboration where the stakes warrant it.
09Intellectual property
You retain ownership of your API keys, your application, and the data you submit. We retain ownership of the Connexolve platform, documentation, branding, and aggregated anonymised analytics. You grant us a limited licence to process your data solely to deliver the service.
10Confidentiality
API keys, webhook secrets, customer-specific pricing, and any non-public information shared during onboarding are confidential to both parties. Neither party may disclose them to third parties except where required by law or to legal/accounting advisors under equivalent confidentiality.
11Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if:
- You materially breach these Terms and do not cure within 7 days of notice
- Your wallet balance is insufficient and not topped up within 14 days of an outstanding balance notice
- We have reason to believe your account is being used unlawfully or in violation of consent rules
- A regulator, law-enforcement authority, or data source instructs us to suspend access
You may close your account at any time by emailing directors@connexolve.in. Unused prepaid balance is refunded per the refund policy in Section 6.
12Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law:
- Connexolve's aggregate liability for any claim arising under or relating to these Terms is limited to the fees you paid to Connexolve in the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim
- Neither party is liable for indirect, consequential, special, or punitive damages
- This limitation does not apply to liability arising from gross negligence, wilful misconduct, breach of confidentiality, or your indemnification obligations
13Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Connexolve harmless from claims, damages, and costs arising from:
- Your use of the service in breach of these Terms
- Your failure to obtain valid consent from data principals
- Decisions you take based on Connexolve API responses
- Your unlawful disclosure or misuse of verification results
14Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Kolkata, West Bengal.
Both parties first attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith negotiation for 30 days. Unresolved disputes may be referred to a sole arbitrator appointed under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, with the seat at Kolkata, language English.
15Changes
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email and posted at this URL with a revised effective date. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
